Throughout a football season it is inevitable that some players will transgress the rules and possibly receive yellow or red cards. But, as a member of the Amateur Football Association the club has a responsibility to maintain a high standard of discipline.
In particular, verbal or physical abuse towards referees, club members, club officials, and visiting club members/officials will definitely not be tolerated.
For every reported caution the club receives a number of points from the AFA. Once the club reaches a certain points limit (there are various limits), the AFA will take further action against the club.
Yellow Cards
Any player receiving a caution will automatically receive a £10 fine regardless of whether or not a referees report is received by the club.
The fine must be paid within 3 weeks of the caution. Failure to pay the fine will result in the player being suspended from all games, pending payment of the fine.
Red Cards
Any player dismissed for violent conduct towards referees, club members, club officials, and visiting club members/officials will automatically be banned for all future games pending the AFA and referees report.
A player dismissed for any other offence will receive a fine and a suspension as laid down by the AFA. All fines must be paid in full before the player can resume playing.
The management committee reserves the right to extend a suspension having considered the available evidence. The management committee will monitor individual players disciplinary records. Persistent offenders will not be tolerated and could be asked to leave the club.
We are all here to enjoy playing football and should therefore show respect to our fellow club members, opposition and referees – if you cannot abide by this disciplinary code you must reconsider your membership of the club.
